My piano practicing and preparing for performances could make a good comedy sketch. Practicing Liszt Rhapsody the other day was the most hilarious thing I’ve done recently. My 2 year old toddler playing outside in the garden. 5months old baby next to the piano. Neighbor renovating our room at the front. It was a Liszt Rhapsody for 2 screaming babies and a chain saw. While playing Liszt rapid passages up and down I was shouting “Daniella where are you?”, getting up and sitting down to have a look what she is up too. Rocking Alexander with my right foot while learning left hand chord progressions. Having a competition with a chain saw to see who can play louder while playing bravura octaves. Soothing Alexander to sleep with my Chopin Nocturne at the end. Surprisingly, I was well prepared for my performance the next day. It was probably the most intense and focused practice I have ever done! Highly recommended.
